Our Director, founder, owner, leading private driver - tour guide and his story started in August 1992 when an enthusiastic Geoff left the safety and security of the Corporate world to enter a whole new world, that of tourism. Geoff founded "The Mountain Bike Adventure Company" hiring out cycles at the newly opened Mount Cavendish Gondola (Christchurch Port Hills). Geoff became an active member and spokes-person of the Canterbury Tourism Council representing all the Adventure Tourism operators in the region. Geoff has built up over 30 years' of industry experience a vast knowledge of his beloved country and having many years ago worked with several leading tourism operators, is today considered a Travel Specialist - an expert within Kiwi tourism
Today tourism is hugely important to the New Zealand economy, one in ten Kiwis are involved in this exciting fast growing dynamic industry. International visitors and Kiwi's traveling domestically now spend over NZ$12 billion every year. The New Zealand Tourism Board are now predicting by 2025 visitor numbers will approach 5 million plus - that's our total population (plus 32 million sheep!). Air New Zealand, our National airline, continues to develop exciting new routes - for example South America and particularly in North America, J.F.K. New York directly to Auckland and from Houston, San Francisco, Chicago - soon direct flights Los Angeles to Christchurch (our home town)
